Kamigamo Jinja shrine
The oldest shrine in Kyoto. It’s dedicated to worship guardians to drive away bad luck via the power of thunder. A festival called “Aoimatsuri Festival” is held in every May.

Shimogamo Shrine, with woods sprung up around and the magnificent nature.
One of the oldest shrines in Kyoto, famous for “Aoimatsuri Festival”, one of the 3 biggest festa of Kyoto. Through the bright reddish Torii gates is a huge tower with the main hall at the back.

Gozan no Okuribi
Gozan no Okuribi is held on 16th August every year in Kyoto as a summer classic. With spectacular Japanese characters and Torii gate in night mountain.
Held in MayAoimatsuri Festival
It is a festival of Shimogamo Shrine and Kamigamo Shrine that started about 1,500 years ago. The highlight is a parade with case in Heian costume walking about 8km.
